"Go ahead, jump. It will all work out." This is some of the best advice I have ever gotten. Sometimes you have to ignore logic, pack your bike and ride across the country. My plan was to ride to the Born Free Show, win a Panhead, do the Biltwell 500, drink to excess, ride home. Simple. That was the beginning and the end of my trip planning. To even call it a plan would be an insult to actual plans. So 6003 miles later, it didn't work out the way I thought it would, but it all worked out. There is never a good time for it. You will never have enough money. You can never get enough time off work. The point is, stop thinking about it, stop dreaming about it, stop making excuses why you can't. Get out there and ride yer bike.
On the road again

After making a strong showing on the Gypsy Run, Biltwell Bill and Crew beelined it to Trent's Ground Zero Throwdown. By all reports Trent knows how to do it right! Look for a full report on the Chop Cult. Photo stolen from Wendy.
Just got off the phone with my favorite anglophile, Wes White. He is prepping for his annual campaign to win a land speed record at Bonneville. He needs 111 twice to get in the books. Keep your fingers crossed! Support!
It was a great day here at the Kickstart corporate headquarters. I got a nice package in the mail from Biltwell Bill. I held my autographed copy of STRICTLY STREET STUFF by Bill Bryant Sr. I'll do a full review later but I can tell you this now, it is a great book. Get it. The other thing in the box was my long awaited set of FXRP Cop bags! The complicated and exhausting trading that took for me to get these is the stuff of legend. Let's just say it involved a coloring book and a cupcake. If that wasn't enough for one day I got an unexpected visit from east coast iconoclast and neo-luddite, Flatiron Mike. I finally got to see the Mule 2.0 in person. Great stance. Good details. If Mike wasn't from Connecticut I could say it was perfect. But I can't.
Atomic Trent has been a busy boy! His latest builds are up on his site. As always, good looking! Click through for more pictures. Don't forget the Ground Zero Throwdown is coming up in Sept. Don't miss it!

Don't forget that the Greasebag is this weekend! Go find Grail and buy him a beer. He puts on a great event. We is sponsoring one of the bike show trophies this year, Grail wont tell me what the trophy is for, most likely the best power puff girls tribute bike, I can't wait to find out.

Eric from Vegas needs to move his bike. I wish I had something clever to add... but I don't. Biltwell Bill posted this on his site this morning and it says it all.
"I kind of hate to participate in this, but if he's gotta sell, we'll bump it here see if it helps. This ain't no princess truck-riding emo-tard fashion-mobile. Just a nicely modded ST that's meant to be ridden, sold by a trustworth fella." This info from Eric:

IH Todd had his annual hardcore chopper heavy metal throw-down DC shindig this past weekend. From all reports a good time was had by all. I am still waiting to hear who won the fine Biltwell Helmet we donated for a door prize. Todd tells me that the winner is proving a little hard to pin down. I am sure there is a good story in there somewhere. In the meantime bask in the glory of Todd and a guy showing his boobs for a free T-shirt!
This photo is from the last EDR. I rolled up on this right after Rob went to the hospital. Mr Rouser was trying to get over to the side of the road where everyone was meeting up after crossing the border back into the states. The car used him as a push broom for a few hundred feet. I saw him the next day at the Biltwell headquarters. I was amazed how well he was doing. He was cruising around on a new pair of crutches and you couldn't smack the smile off his face. While we were loading his bike in the back of a minivan I asked him why he was in such a good mood, "I am just happy not to be dead... really happy". Ladies and gentlemen, Rouser Rob. Oh yea, he builds a nice bike as well.
